Stephan & Ursula’s Deep Cove Wedding

Living here we get really spoiled with beautiful and unique locations.  Stephan and Ursula came from Edmonton to have their wedding in the gorgeous garden that his mother has grown at their home in Deep Cove.  This garden is incredible with terraced rock gardens weaving all the way down to the water.  I have to admit that I (Emmy of course) was more than a little afraid of tripping and falling on my face navigating the stone pathway and the many levels in this garden.  When you are looking through your lens you are not always looking at your feet.  Luckily we both made it through unscathed! This has to be the most stunning garden we have ever photographed a wedding in.  I think our favourite part was how simple it was and we loved all of the interesting angles in such a unique place.  The day was a bit grey but it managed not to rain on us which was great for the lunch and garden party held at Deep Cove Chalet after the ceremony. In the evening everyone headed into Victoria for a little downtown session with us and the real party began in a penthouse suite overlooking the Victoria harbour at the Victoria Regent Hotel.  Stephan and Ursula has timed their entire evening around having their first dance during the late May sunset.  The day was quite cloudy but managed to open just enough at just the right time for them.  Their good friends serenaded them as they had their first dance and it was a perfect way to end the day.  We also have to mention what great style these two had – from the men’s fuschia socks and custom made vintage typewriter key cuff links – which made each of their initials – to Ursula’s grogeous Bonzie bolero, this was a good looking group! Thanks so much Stephan and Ursula for choosing us for your day.

Hello Everyone!!

After many months of hard work we are so excited to finally be unveiling our brand new website and blog.  You may notice we have a new url for our blog.  The Archivists is our new blog title and you will understand a little more when you visit the Us segment of our main site. Also don’t forget to update your RSS feed with the new address! This blog is our archives of all of our favourite images from each shoot.  We hope that you will come and visit us often and we love to know you were here so please leave a comment and say hello. We have an upcoming post on all of our new packaging and print materials but for now I really just couldn’t wait to share one of this season first weddings with you.  We have been holding on to our wedding posts so that we could share them on this beautiful new blog.

Amanda & Cyrus – this beautiful gift of a wedding came to us on short notice but was really meant to be. They both got ready for the day at the beautiful Crown Mansion boutique hotel with an intimate ceremony at Giovanni’s Restorante . The early spring rain threatened but luckily only sprinkled so we were able to brave the wind and visit the beach that Qualicum is so famous for.  Thank-you Amanda and Cyrus for such a great day!
