Merridale Ciderworks Wedding

So excited to share this lovely Merridale Ciderworks wedding! It is especially nice that our relocation to Shawnigan Lake means that this place is now practically in our backyard! Merridale Ciderworks is a really fantastic wedding ceremony and reception venue. For couples looking for a farm feel with all of the amenities this is an easy choice. Beautiful grounds with orchards, forest and water features as well as an indoor/outdoor feel to the reception area brings a lot of nature to your day without having to leave the venue. Dara and Jin wanted to keep their day fuss free and focus on all their most loved people and this location meant just that. Dara works in a bookshop and books are one of her great loves in life. So rather than carry a bouquet, Dara carried some favourite books that they both read from during the ceremony. After the ceremony close family and friends participated in a Chinese tea ceremony and Dara changed into a red embroidered gown in honour of Jin’s heritage. These two didn’t want to spend a long time away from their guests so we did a short walk around the grounds to capture some images before joining the reception. I can honestly say the food at Merridale is really really good! We eat a lot of wedding suppers and this was incredible – oh and the cider is pretty skookum as well! So if good food and drink is high on your list this venue is definitely worth considering. These two have some talented friend’s and the local band West My Friend was a fantastic way to cap off the day with live tunes into the evening. This wedding was simple and so sweet to be a part of. We had a great day and foresee Dara and Jin having a lifetime of chats over good books in their future! If you are looking for a Vancouver Island wedding or reception venue that has everything for your day in one location, with great food, beautiful surroundings and a farm feel, then a Merridale Ciderworks wedding may be perfect for you. Oh and please get in touch as we would love to photograph it! For a complete list of all the talented Vancouver Island wedding vendors involved in this day scroll to the end of the post.

Why Quality Matters
For many girls, prom night is the biggest event of the school year. You want to look – and feel – fabulous! Many cheap dresses cheap bridesmaid dresses uklook great on the hanger, and may even look good in the dressing room, but after an hour on the dance floor, poorly made dresses will pinch, bind or become too loose. Poorly constructed embroidery can become loose and fall off. Remember – you need to look great the entire night, and feeling comfortable in your dress without having to constantly adjust it will make your night memorable for all the right reasons – not because of a dress disaster!

Just came upon your site after a bit of a hiatus. Love this wedding. Your photography is gorgeous.

Sea Cider Farm Wedding

Alicia and Brandon’s beautiful Sea Cider Farm wedding was one of our favourites from this past wedding season. Not just because of how stunning it was but mostly because of how lovely these two are. When a couple walks in and says that we are the only wedding photographers they have contacted and really hope we are available on their date it really means an incredible amount to us! These two really had a vision for incorporating their love of west coast forest landscapes into their wedding day. One of the reasons they chose a Sea Cider Farm wedding was because of the new and incredibly gorgeous forest ceremony location with an aisle that weaves through the foliage to a ceremony backdrop of giant tree roots. We were really excited that we were able to find old growth forest locations for their wedding portraits that fit so well with the venue and the result is a really beautiful love filled day in the forest. Alicia was drop dead stunning in her Martina Liana gown from Blush Bridal and a gorgeous deep coloured bouquet from Details BC completed her look. The reception featured local craft beers and cider with custom designed beer growler’s were a really fun way to say thank you to all their loved ones for coming to celebrate the day. The doughnut bar from Yonni’s and excellent dance moves by all were the cherries on top of this incredible day. So much love for these two and best wishes on their next adventure as Mr and Mrs!! If you are looking for a location for your day we highly recommend Sea Cider Farm wedding venue. We have a few dates left for 2017 so if you are planning a wedding please drop is a note and we would love to chat!
