This summer Vancouver Island engagement session is one of our favourites and in colder weather I have been daydreaming about warmer days. When couples come to us for engagement sessions they often have a list of what they think they may want from an online resource or a pinterest pin board of styled sessions. When we meet with wedding photography clients who would like to do an engagement session the first question I ask is “What do you like to do together?” This opens up so many interesting and personal possibilities for engagement sessions that will really reflect who the couple is. When we met with these two and they told us where they wanted to do their engagement session we knew we were kindred spirits – members of a somewhat secret club of those in the know for the best spot for a summer beach fire in Victoria. We have visited this same spot for years, brought there by friends who were brought by friends before them looking for this secluded piece of nature within the city. For these two it was a spot they came often and a tradition they built together. It was the perfect spot to capture their engagement session with a paddle in a canoe, a secret beach, and supper cooked over the fire. This is as perfect a Vancouver Island engagement session could be not just because of the incredible location but also because of how special the place is to the two about to be married. We were so excited to shoot this engagement session with canoes, beach fires, sunset meadows, and calm summer sea. If you are getting married and are looking for a wedding photographer in Victoria BC or elsewhere to capture your wedding and a personal engagement session we would love to hear from you.
